Born amid the Alps of northern Italy in 1935, Carla Carli Mazzucato began her life's journey in a world of beauty and inspiration. But with the onset of war, her world was quickly transformed into one of new challenges and adversity.

Here is her story — an account of her inspiring journey from the land of her youth, through the changing landscape of post-war Italy, and finally to America, where her artistic expression flourished and established a bold, new vision in the world of contemporary art.
